The fabric was created specially for Issey Miyake by Makiko Mingawa, with this fabric the pleats are permanent even following washing and it uses 3 times as much fabric as a normal garment allowing it to stretch and move comfortably. The zig zag pattern adds depth to the fabric. These garments are timeless classics and every piece embodies the timeless spirit of Issey Miyake, these are as sort after now as the 1990s when they were first developed.
